A group of Danish students at the Aalborg University have developed a virtual reality rehabilitation system for brain injured people.  It is a system of virtual reality glasses and sensors that teach patients skills that can give them back the basic joy of life.  Read more HERE.
Virtual Realty is important in training surgeons, giving them experience with a safe environment for patients.  Also robotic surgical arms are enabled by Virtual Realty for small and very delicate areas and also in remote telesurgery, performed in a remote location by a second surgeon, expanding the use of the expertise and experience of one surgeon to another.
