THE STABLE circa 1887: "Simply the best in Old Niagara, if not the free world!"

	THE STABLE is a wonderfully unique and historic carriage house, originally built in 1887, and then gradually converted from its equine past to a private home during the course of the 1900's. It is situated in the heart of the heritage conservation Old Town district of Niagara-on-the-Lake, Canada's prettiest town and home of the world-class Shaw Festival.

Perfect location ....

You will find it is a short and very pleasant walk from THE STABLE to the Shaw Festival's theatres, historic Fort George, and all Old Town shops, restaurants, pubs, art galleries and museums. It is also just a nine-iron to the Niagara Golf Club, the oldest golf course in North America. Park free at THE STABLE and stroll to the theatre and everything else in town.

Amenities galore .... Guests of THE STABLE have full use of a spacious parlor and dining room with a cozy wood-burning fireplace. A guest hospitality room is also set up with a refrigerator, a microwave oven, an iron and ironing board, and a tea kettle with complimentary hot beverages, anytime, day or night.

	Outside amenities include a sparkling swimming pool in a very private garden patio setting and a pleasant covered verandah with white wicker furniture.

Gourmet breakfast .... An elegant candlelit breakfast, featured in a book by Nancy and Richard Woodworth, "Getaways for Gourmets," includes a piping-hot entree, home-made bread and muffins with preserves, tropical fruit cocktail, fine juices, Colombian coffee, herbal teas and more. Breakfast is served each morning overlooking the pool and gardens.

Contemporary rooms ....

Guest rooms at THE STABLE are tastefully appointed and individually decorated. All rooms have their own private bathrooms, color televisions and individual air-conditioning.

Winter magic ....

	Many people feel that Niagara-on-the-Lake is at its best in the winter with an absolutely delightful Victorian Christmas celebration and parade, twinkling white lights, Frost & Frolic winter festival, wine cuvees, sleigh rides, cross-country skiing, romantic dinners and a more leisurely pace. Curl up with a good book by the fireplace at THE STABLE and life is good.

So much to do ....

Make plans to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake at any time of year. The town is perfectly located on the Niagara Wine Route and the Lakeshore Waterfront Bike Trail, both of which are dotted with fine antique stores, too. It is an easy and extremely scenic 20-minute drive from the Old Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake to world-renowned Niagara Falls, the excitement of Casino Niagara and the magic of the Butterfly Conservatory.

Check-in time is whenever you show up after 2:00 in the afternoon, although rooms are often available by lunchtime, if coming in earlier is more convenient for you. We look forward to your stay at THE STABLE.
